Worked example: Working days between 1 Sep and 17 Sep 2026

A project counted calendar days vs business days from Monday 1 September 2026 to Thursday 17 September 2026. Weekends dropped out of the business-day count. They still added that 7 September was a Monday and that local bank holidays were not in the default calendar — they subtracted those by hand.

Inclusive vs exclusive end dates caused a one-day argument. They stated the convention in the email (‘not including the end date’).

Limitations

Bank holidays are jurisdiction-specific and may not be bundled.
DST does not change date differences much but time-of-day differences need the timezone tool.
Leap days affect anniversary spans.
‘A month’ is not always 30 days.
