File conversion is one of the most common online tasks — and one of the riskiest, because most converter sites upload your files to their servers. ToolsGuru's file converters take a different approach: images, PDFs and video files are processed directly in your browser using Canvas and modern media APIs. The files are not sent to a ToolsGuru server, there is nothing to delete afterwards, and there is no upload wait time.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The converters on ToolsGuru process files locally in your browser. If you open your browser's network inspector during a conversion you will see the page's own assets, analytics and ads, but no request that sends your file to a converter service.

What is the maximum file size?

Each tool has its own limit. For example, Video to Audio accepts up to 500 MB per file and Image Converter up to 50 MB. Very large files can also be limited by your browser's memory.

Why convert images to WebP?

WebP typically produces files 25–35% smaller than JPEG at the same visual quality, which makes pages load faster and improves Core Web Vitals. All modern browsers support it, and our converter lets you compare quality before downloading.

Does conversion reduce quality?

Only if you choose lossy settings. Converting to a lossless format such as PNG preserves every pixel. For lossy formats such as JPG and WebP, you control the quality slider and can preview the result before saving.
