How to Use ToolsGuru

Getting started is easy! No registration, no downloads, no hassle. Follow these 5 simple steps.

5 Simple Steps

1

Find Your Tool

Browse our categories or use the search bar to find the tool you need. We have tools for developers, students, office work, and file conversion.

2

Open the Tool

Click on any tool card to open it. No registration or login required—start using it immediately.

3

Input Your Data

Depending on the tool, you'll either upload a file, paste text, or enter values. For most tools, processing happens locally in your browser.

4

Process Instantly

Click the action button to process your data. The tool works instantly—no waiting for server responses since everything runs in your browser.

5

Get Results

Copy your results, download converted files, or use the output directly. For most tools your files stay in your browser.

How Your Data Is Handled

File and text tools are written to process bytes in your tab. That is different from “the whole internet never sees anything”: the page still loads scripts, and URL-lookup tools fetch the address you typed. Here is the practical version:

Dropped files are not POSTed to a ToolsGuru converter API
Hashes and UUIDs use Web Crypto in the tab
PDF rewrite uses pdf-lib in memory
Works offline for local tools once the page JS is cached

How processing actually works

After the page loads, a file you select is a File object in JavaScript. Image tools draw to a canvas and re-encode. PDF merge, split, rotate, watermark, and page delete rewrite the document with pdf-lib. Batch downloads are often zipped with JSZip. Nothing in that path requires our server to store the document. The full methodology — including analytics, AdSense, and memory limits — is in How ToolsGuru keeps files on your device.

To check a conversion yourself: open DevTools → Network, drop a uniquely named file, run the tool, and confirm you do not see that file uploaded. You will still see Google scripts. If your policy forbids those scripts, block them or use desktop software.

Read the result like a human

Every tool page now includes a worked example, a limitations list, and a “when not to use” section written for that tool — not a reused privacy blurb. Loan and compound-interest numbers are scenarios, not advice. Word counts follow whitespace splitting, which may differ from your department portal. PDF white boxes are not redaction. If a page disagrees with a standard you must follow, the standard wins.

Longer original pieces live on the Guides hub: HEIC for a print shop, merging a fee proposal with drawings, hashes versus UUIDs versus passwords, university word limits, and WebP/AVIF/JPG for a 24-SKU coffee catalogue.
