ToolsGuru

Privacy Policy

At ToolsGuru, we keep data collection to a minimum. This page explains in plain language what stays in your browser, what is collected by third-party services, and the few cases where data leaves your device.

ToolsGuru is owned and operated by Aleena LTD, which is the data controller for this website. "We", "us" and "our" on this page mean Aleena LTD.

The Short Version

We do not ask for personal information and there are no accounts. Most tools process your files in your browser, so the files are not sent to ToolsGuru. The site uses Google Analytics and Google AdSense, which may set cookies and collect usage data.

What Stays in Your Browser

Client-Side Processing

For most tools, such as the image tools, PDF tools, text tools, hash and password generators, files and text are processed with JavaScript on your own device and are not uploaded to a ToolsGuru server. The exceptions are listed under "Tools That Contact Other Services" below.

No User Accounts

We do not require or offer user registration. There are no accounts or profiles, so we hold no account data about you.

Data Saved on Your Device

Your browser stores your light or dark theme choice. The Online Notepad autosaves your text and the Flashcard Maker saves your card sets in your browser's local storage. This data stays on your device; you can remove it by clearing the site data in your browser.

Analytics, Advertising and Cookies

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used (for example, which pages are visited). Google Analytics may set cookies and collect information such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you view. We do not send the contents of your files or text to Google Analytics.

Google AdSense. To support the free service we show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, which can include personalised ads depending on your settings and region. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services for details and for how to manage ad personalisation.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings or use a content blocker. The tools will still work.

Our website uses standard web hosting services that may log basic server access information (such as IP addresses and browser types) for security and performance purposes. These logs do not include the contents of files you process in your browser.

Tools That Contact Other Services

A few tools need to talk to another website to work. Do not enter private URLs, tokens or code you would not share with these services:

  • The API and GraphQL testers in Debugging & Testing send requests to the address you enter.
  • The Code Screenshot (Carbon) tool sends your code to carbon.now.sh, a third-party site, to show the preview.
  • The Sitemap Extractor can fetch a sitemap directly from another site if that site allows it (or you can paste the XML instead).

The Text Editor (Monaco code editor) loads its code library from the jsDelivr CDN when you open it; only the library is downloaded, and your files are still not uploaded. Our PDF tools use pdf.js served from our own site.

Emails You Send Us

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and we use it to reply. Please do not attach private files.

Your Rights

We hold no account data about you. Analytics and advertising data is handled by Google under its own policies. If you have questions about this policy, or want us to delete an email you sent us, contact us at:
